Anybody Playing Alto's Odyssey?

Neil Laubenthal
I’m on level 26 with Paz…who flips slow…and have been trying to achieve the final goal on this level of 10 flips in 1000 meters for way more hours than I should admit and am having no luck.

The problem is that Paz flips so slowly that having anyplace you can flip 10 times in 1000 meters is nigh on impossible. I’ve tried just waiting until later in the run to build up speed to help flip faster, tried using the wing suit to give him a little upward burst before flipping, balloon bouncing and there just don’t seem to be enough valid opportunities.

I’ve even tried temporarily switching back to the Maya player as she flips far faster…and I still show the same 10 flips in 1000 meters goal at the start of a run…but despite flipping successfully 17 or 18 times in 1000 meters…although that includes some double and triples but there were 10 separate jump/flips in the 1000 meters I don’t get the goal achievement.

Am I missing something obvious?

Have I spent way too many hours working on this? (I know the answer to this one.)

WAY ahead of me. I'm only on level 19 or 20. I liked the game a lot more once I got Maya. "Run all night" is not going to be fun to get.

I dunno, some of the goals are oddly non-specific. Like "Fly with two birds". Um. OK. I mean, birds sometimes show up. Seemingly at random. No idea how I can (or if I can) control that.

I played it for several hours last night... It's quite good. For breaks, I played Alto's Adventure (Level 38 I think). 😁

Ha! I couldn't even get past the tutorial. It keeps freezing with a popup telling me how to flip, which messes up my timing, so I always crash. It apparently won't let go on with the tutorial until I complete a flip as it keeps repeating. After five minutes, I gave up.

Probably a good thing as I don't need a time-waster at the moment. 😊

It’s a pretty good game…I finished Alto’s Revenge and have been playing it ever since…got almost a million coins and nothing to spend them on.

I did figure out level level 26…changed back to Maya who flips a lot faster and then started flipping like mad right out of the gate. Crashed a few runs but then got into a flip that bounced on a balloon to another flip and repeated through 4 balloon bounces and finished the level.

Some of the goals are deceptively difficult…like this one…but now that I’ve confirmed you can go back to another character you can pick the one that best allows meeting the goal…I must have crashed with Paz on the 10x in 1000 meters hundreds of runs because he flips so slow that you can only flip on about 1/3 of the spots that other characters can flip…and there are never 10 of them in 1000 meters.

Some of the goals are almost ridiculously easy…on level 27 I finished all 3 goals in 2 runs.

It’s not really frozen…but it assumes you didn’t play Revenge and walks you through learning the flips and such…once you do that it gets a lot easier.

It is a terrible time waster…but then I don’t have that whole work thing going on any more…but Connie and I are way busier than we ever were while we had jobs.

What platform are you playing on? I saw it on my Apple TV App Store, so assume iOS or TVOS

iOS.

It’s much better on my 10.5 iPad Pro…on my 6s+ the features like rocks and such are so small that if you’re in the nighttime in the game and it’s actually daylight you just can’t make them out very well…or maybe it’s my old man eyes:-)

I’ve  been stuck on level 38 of the original game for over a year (just could not score 35,000 trick points) until today!!!!! I finally cracked it and got the endorphin rush the developers intended. Still play it on a regular basis because I find the game calming.  Looking forward to trying out the new game soon.

Re: Anybody Playing Alto's Odyssey?

It took me weeks to get one of the final levels…it required some ridiculous number of trick points. I tried over…and over…and over…and over but eventually was able to get there.

The new game has varying scenery…they call them biomes…but it’s a lot more challenging in addition to having some new tricks you can use. Paz still can’t backflip worth a damn though.
