Delete Volume

Jerry DaBell
Does anybody know how to delete a volume or partition on a disk? Using Disk Utility, I can change their sizes and erase them but not delete or remove them. I’ve searched Apple, Help and other places without success.

Thanks,
JLD

Re: Delete Volume

Al Varnell
It may depend on whether the volumes are formatted HFS+ or APFS, but in the case of the former: Select the partition you wish to delete. Click Erase. Click Erase to confirm you wish to erase the partition. Click Done to continue.
